Their current FileMaker 6 solution was developed in-house but recognising the need to dramatically improve functionality and migrate to FileMaker 7, Alpha have called upon MaJic for a complete Design & Analysis prior to a possible rewrite.

Creative design company who needed a job bag solution which allowed them to track their clients and the history of design work requested from them.
Jobs could consist of a variety of work types (Studio, Printing, Bureau) and may constitute several quotes for a client from which they could choose one or more services items. They could then invoice the client from these chosen items.

Clients, People, Suppliers, Staff, Jobs, invoices, document history.

Specialise in recruiting sales, marketing and technical staff into medical device and equipment companies.
This bespoke recruitment module manages the very complex matching processes required so that the correct, suitably qualified, candidates contained within the system can be put forward to customers for interviews.
Connects original developer ‘disappeared’ and MaJic were asked to improve the interface and make a number of important structural changes.

Grand Slamm Childrens Films
Animation company who create and produce animated films.
Best known for Angelina Ballerina, Bosom Pals & Sheeep
Originally required a database to store, search & retrieve the images used in their animations. This expanded to cover the complete control of Productions, Series, Episodes and individual Scenes.
Episodes can be analysed to show all the scenes which make up that episode together with the attached images. You could get footage & frame statistics and also the completion status of the episode based upon what stage it had passed through (RUF, BTW & Colour).
It handles emailing of episode schedule details as well as storage of email history

Guhring
Guhring manufacture & supply specialised and bespoke rotary cutting tools as well as offering a full regrinding and recoating service.
They had a solution in-house which controlled the order and supply of these services, which had been developed by another supplier.
Guhring had certain requirements of the solution outside of its current capability and called upon MaJic to meta test and report on their available options.
Guhring asked MaJic to remain with the current solution but enhance it to include several key functions which would save them considerable time & effort.
MaJic worked with Guhring for a period of time to add these functions and now continue to provide external support for their solution and consulting when necessary.

Itarus
Itarus is a group of companies within the pre-press and information systems solutions for FMCG market.
Itarus had developed a solution in-house to handle some of their job flow operations.
They called in MaJic when they wished to do things that they felt would lie beyond their current skill sets.
MaJic have worked with Itarus over the past 5 years to upgrade and improve their system to the point where it now controls virtually every aspect of their workflow.
There is also a comprehensive module which controls their HR and handles timesheets, holiday and sickness - which include conflict checking with other nominated staff
MaJic continue to support the Itarus in house team.

Laser Graphics
Laser Graphics is a Digital Print and Bureau printing company with a secondary company handling conceptual design services and web site creation.
One of the most difficult things to handle is the calculation and generation of client quotes when having to factor in the variety of charges applied to diverse printing jobs.
MaJic worked closely with the owners to create a full quoting template, which could rack up client quotes instantly and then instantly create a quote/job record and email it to the client
The job could then be tracked proactively through its life cycle from initial quote to job to printing to invoice and complete
Add to this that it handles multiple companies and client & supplier tables and a reference cost table to manipulate profit margins as market costs change.

M3 provide its customers with a full service advertising concept and handling of publicity campaigns.
M3 Design studio will conceptualise and create all necessary copy to be used in the campaigns from Publications through TV, Radio even through to using Blimps !
MaJic have worked closely with M3 staff over the past two years to create a system which handles the two key aspects of their business - Production jobs and Media advertising.
The production module handles all elements which go to make up the concept of the advertising - Through creative work to external purchase of resources. The Medis module handles the booking of every piece of advertising space.
M3 specialise in clients who have a presence throughout the UK and thus they have to arrange advertising which covers a huge span of geographical areas to take care of all outlets for the company. Each outlet in an area may have a variety of linked key periodicals

MKL&M is a lettings agent specialising in the leasing and full management of properties.
They collate Landlords and their Properties and the Tenants who will lease these Properties through lease agreements.
The solution provides them with the ability to set up lease agreements and print out all necessary legal requirements, track & police the periodic rental payments, prepare payments to the landlords net of commissions, arrange repairs to properties & settle with suppliers
In summary the solution manages data for agency, Landlords, Properties, Tenants, lease Agreements, Suppliers, Maintenance jobs, Rent received, Payments made !
The solution naturally comprises of Sales & Purchase Ledgers as well as Cash Book !

Nipperbout
Nipperbout run a creche facility which is located close to a busy shopping centre.
Their clients are the many customers who come to shop and who wish to leave their children in a safe and fun environment instead of having to accompany them on expeditions from shop to shop.
As they have a limited number of spaces available, they needed a solution that would track inbound children and allocate them to a slot and then the outbound children to calculate the cost and also to open up that space again.
The solution allows them to proactively advise potential customers when the next slot is available and book in advance. The solution also prints out a variety of reports including specifically formatted reports required by the government who oversee the management of creche facilities.
Added to this is a CRM module that tracks the attendees and also keeps a profile about them where necessary health and care data can be kept and referenced (e.g. medical or dietary requirements)

The Royal Association of Dairy Farmers has been using FileMaker to assist with the Annual Dairy Event which they run.
MaJic have been helping to raise the level of understanding of FileMaker by making significant changes to their current files and helping them to move toward a complete rewrite using FM7 in order to maximise efficiency and cope with the growth that they have experienced over each ensuing year.

Response UK
Response is a company handling Media advertising who specialise within the Property lettings sector.
They coordinate the administration of advertising within UK publications which spans extended periods of advertising and the spread of publication issues throughout the whole of the UK.
Response can create complex schedules for a variety of publications which are sized to the appropriate dimensions specific to each publication and then can send all necessary confirmation/amendment/cancellation documentation to the suppliers.
The system allows them to track and match incoming supplier invoices against the advertisements placed and reconcile purchase ledger payments as well as being able to use the client schedules to support their Sales ledger invoicing.

A Saville Row tailor with prestige clientele needed to be able to provide that extra level of service which helps to raise them above the others.
This FM solution stored all contact information for the customer PLUS the profile detail required for a tailor which is the full outline of all specifications/tastes/dimensions of each individual which then gets updated/reused for every order placed.
Also each order is stored and able to be referenced by any staff member when the client telephones or calls into the premises.
Richard James placed iBooks throughout the store and MaJic developed, installed & networked the files so anyone could get access at any time !
